Dawn Smiles CSci FIBMS
Founder & Practitioner
Dawn is the founder of MedTec Consulting and Nutri Therapy, bringing a wealth of experience from both the biomedical and MedTech industries. She began her career in biomedical science, specialising in clinical medical microbiology, before transitioning into the medical technology sector. Dawn worked for leading medical device companies, including Medtronic, where she specialised in vascular medicine and qualified as a CASE-accredited vascular sonographer.
Dawn established MedTec Consulting in her early 30s. However, during this time, the demands of her career took a toll, leading to chronic stress and burnout. This experience sparked a deep interest in functional health and cellular biology, inspiring her to expand her knowledge and explore new approaches to well-being. Over the past decade, Dawn has applied her scientific expertise to support friends and family, ultimately leading to the expansion of MedTec Consulting to include Nutri Therapy. Her mission is to bridge the gap between science, technology, and personalised health, empowering individuals to optimise their wellbeing through evidence-based approaches.
Beki Herzberg
Executive Patient Coordinator
With over 18 years of experience providing private PA services to a wide range of professionals, including barristers, lawyers, solicitors, and healthcare professionals, Beki brings a wealth of expertise and organisational skills to our team. She excels in offering personalised support and is highly adept at coordinating and guiding our clients through every step of the process.
What sets Beki apart is not just her organisational talent but also her deep empathy. Having personally struggled with chronic fatigue syndrome for over 20 years, she understands the challenges our clients face on a personal level. After working with Nutri Therapy for a year, we were able to help her get back on the road to recovery – though it remains an ongoing journey.
Beki truly goes above and beyond to ensure our clients feel supported, valued, and understood. We are delighted to have her as a partner and look forward to the positive impact she will continue to have on our clients' experiences at Nutri Therapy.
Lorna Middleton MSc CSci FIBMS
Advisory Consultant & Senior Practitioner
Lorna is a highly qualified Specialist Biomedical Scientist, with over 20 years of experience in laboratory science. She operates in a consultant capacity for Nutri Therapy as a practitioner alongside Dawn. She is an expert across multiple disciplines, including biochemistry, haematology, blood transfusion, virology, immunology, and microbiology.
Lorna is a Chartered Scientist who, in addition to her BSc (Hons) in Biomedical Science, holds an MSc in Virology, a Certificate of Competency which enabled her HCPC registration, and a Specialist Diploma in Microbiology and Blood Transfusion from the Institute of Biomedical Science (IBMS). In addition to her clinical work, Lorna acts as an assessor for the Specialist Portfolio in Microbiology and Blood Transfusion with the IBMS.
Sinéad McCluskey
Nutritional Advisor
Sinéad holds a PhD in Nutritional Biochemistry and brings over 30 years of life sciences experience to the Nutri Therapy team. Her passion is to understand how nutrition and lifestyle can optimise health at the cellular level and support long-term wellbeing. Sinéad’s career has taken her from working with pioneering start-ups to leading global organisations, but her heart remains in personalised, preventative health. Sinéad believes that small, evidence-based changes can create powerful shifts in how we feel, function, and thrive.
Sinéad originally studied Analytical Science at Dublin City University and later completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Preventative Cardiology at NUIG. Her deep scientific knowledge is matched by a real-world understanding of the challenges many people face when trying to prioritise their health. Outside of her work with Nutri Therapy, Sinéad founded Balmain Medical, a company dedicated to sourcing innovative medical technologies to improve patient care. Her warm, empowering approach helps clients feel supported and confident as they take steps towards better health.
